Greetings

For anyone who might have wandered onto this blogspot and asked themself what this was all about, EGSO is the acronym for the Economic Graduate Student Organization, specifically for the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a department with which I still see myself at least in spirit and with whom I may one day finish my unpublished and undefended doctoral dissertation (500+ pages of unedited fun on the relationship between Marxian class analysis and city in globalization!).  At points in the not too distant past, I was both a co-chair and a union shop steward (with the Graduate Employee Organization (GEO), UAW 2322) for EGSO.  Right now, however, I've been killing time writing another blog (Democracy Breeds Profanity, at: http://www.boycottcorporatemedia.blogspot.com), plotting out my next relevant life change, and paying the bills by cutting up dead animals (I'm a butcher).  That said, I wanted to create a space for myself to dump off a load of economic theoretic/classroom-oriented work from the courses that I taught while I was a graduate student/teaching associate at UMASS, and maybe think about how I would change some of these documents to make them better teaching materials, more suitably in line with my Marxist perspective or, at least, more sharply critical of mainstream theoretic views.  If you find anything that you either passionately like or passionately despise here, please leave a comment and maybe we can begin to debate it.  Being a truly serious student in all theoretic traditions in economics, from the Natural Law theorists (e.g. Grotius, von Pufendorff) of the Seventeenth century through contemporary game theoretic approaches (e.g. Vernon Smith, Herb Gintus/Sam Bowles, etc.), don't doubt that I will take you up on it!!  Otherwise, read on, be informed and entertained.
